Before Bordeaux, there was Gaillac, “France’s forgotten luxury wine” (Decanter). Loved by the Romans and prized by medieval kings, this ancient French region then fell into obscurity, but no longer ...

Charmed by characterful local grapes like Mauzac and Loin de l’Oeuil, talented winemaker Nicole McPheeters has made it her mission to reintroduce wine fans to the wonderfully aromatic whites of Gaillac. Originally from Arizona, Nicole studied winemaking at several top Australian estates before moving to southern France and falling in love with Gaillac, specifically the Côtes du Tarn.

This under-the-radar region is a haven for grape growing. Hot, dry summers and heat-reflecting, limestone-rich soils help grapes ripen to perfection, while breezes from the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea keep vines cool and retain the fruit’s freshness.

Nicole’s Terre de Cocagne bursts with fresh floral aromas, plus vibrant, citrus- and tropical-fruit flavors. Enjoy a well-chilled glass on its own, or pair with soft cheeses, chicken salads, seafood, and more.

No matter how you serve it, this elegant discovery makes a fabulous alternative to crisp whites like Sauvignon Blanc. And here’s a unique story to share as you pour: the wine’s name and label pay homage to one of the region's most famous exports since the Middle Ages—a pastel-blue dye made from leaves called "boules de cocagne." (The back label reveals all.)

Hurry to be among the first to taste it.
