They say you can’t judge a book by its cover—but in this case, you can judge a wine by its label. Summersday is, as you’d expect, pure California sunshine in a glass. And after being judged at the San Francisco International Wine Competition, this fresh white earned itself the bronze.
It’s a bright and vibrant blend of Gewürztraminer (a big star in Germany and France’s Alsace region) and Pinot Blanc (the rare white sister of Pinot Noir). The grapes hail from premium Monterey County, where a lengthy growing season gives them plenty of time to ripen and cooling breezes from the Monterey Bay lock in freshness.
Look forward to lovely floral aromas, plus notes of ripe lychee and orchard fruit. The palate is gently sweet (or “off dry”) yet still refreshing. This is a picnic wine par excellence—enjoy a glass on its own or pair it with fresh berries, veggies and hummus, or cold cuts. The sweetness will also offset the heat in mildly spicy Asian or Latin dishes.
A sweet treat to enjoy year round (whether you’re relaxing in the sunshine or missing summer in winter!).
