Bordeaux fans: have you heard the exciting news? “The word through the grapevine is that the quality of the 2018 Bordeaux vintage could exceed that of 2015 and 2016, and match that of 2009 and 2010,” writes Forbes.

Indeed, quality is high across France’s most illustrious region, so our well-connected expert had his pick of top-notch, top-value bottles. And we can’t wait for you to taste his latest discovery ...

The Descorps family have crafted wine in Bordeaux for several generations. Château Haut Bardin lies near the village of Donzac, and its vineyards benefit from classic clay and limestone soils that help the grapes develop complexity. Thanks to excellent growing conditions during 2018, the estate’s Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes also developed ripe, concentrated flavors.

A traditional marriage of Merlot (70%) and Cabernet (30%), Château Haut Bardin debuted to a gold medal at the prestigious Concours Général Agricole de Paris. With ripe, black-fruit flavors and rounded tannins, it’ll be a winner on your dinner table too. Enjoy it alongside roasted meats, hearty vegetarian fare, or winter stews.

This is exactly the kind of great-quality, small-estate Bordeaux we love to find for you. Secure your share today.
